Aremy Stewart is an abstract painter living in Portland, OR. Her work is heavily inspired by the natural world, water and time. Using acrylic washes, spray paint and pastels on canvas and paper, Stewart builds up layers of pigment and color to create paintings that can be read like a visual text. Accident, happenstance and luck play a large role in the outcome of these works. Aremy's art has been featured in magazines like Taproot and Juno, and her paintings are held in private collections around the world. This summer Stewart was invited to be an artist resident at Kol&Salt in Iceland, and the artwork made during this time will be exhibited in Portland, OR in early 2020.
